I've had my DELL laptop for a year. It used to work perfectly, until one day when I turned it on, it said OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND. When i would click a button, it will just repeat operating system not found. Can someone help me out please?What does it mean when a DELL laptop says operating system not found?It, means that the pc can't find the Windows file system to boot up from.
It can be caused by several things.
First, make sure that you remove all floppy disks, cd/dvd disks, and usb sticks from the laptop,
then reboot the laptop and see if it starts up.
If it still won't boot go into the bios and restore the laptop to the default settings.
If still no luck ,then you may have a bad hard drive.What does it mean when a DELL laptop says operating system not found?You may have to reinstall the os on the hard drive. It is possible the hard drive has failed. I hope you have a back of you data.
