Is Dell computer spareparts much better than Alienware?

I would love to know because I am planning to assemble a custom build computer. But I have know clue as to which company is better.Which do you think Dell or Alienware is much better?IMHO both Dell and Alienware are crap. Alienware didn't use to be that way, until, of course, Dell bought them out. Oh well. :(

Both are far too overpriced to be worth considering.



Try looking at an alienware computer then find a similar one somewhere like newegg. You will see how much alienware charge.



Also You have the problem with those two companies using parts just to increase their profits. For an example a I7 920 processor is pretty much exactly the same as a 965 extreme edition. But the second one costs several hundred more. So you pay a fortune for a barely noticable increase in performance.



There are alot of traps that you can easily fall into with those companies like the procesor one. I would really aviod them.Which do you think Dell or Alienware is much better?Dell owns alienware.

Take the Dell XPS and an equally configured Alienware PC, the alienware is more expensive, but it uses higher quality parts. It's mostly the brand you're paying for. It's like comparing a Shelby GT500KR to a Lamborghini Gallardo. The Ford is $56,000, and just as fast as the Lambo. The lamborghini costs $240,000, its made from better materials, and hey... it's a lamborghini. If you could afford either one, but only one, would you go with the shelby? probably not.
