How can I fix my Dell Insprion integrated webcam?

I have a new 2009 Dell Insprion laptop that I've had since August. When I got it the webcam has been working fine, being able to take pictures and record video. Recently since I've moved to Hawai'i for school, I've noticed my webcam can no longer record video. When I try to record a video in webcam central the entire computer freezes and I need to restart it.
