Help! How do i get my Dell 4700 pc set to restore settings or to the first day (factory settings)?

I tried a system restore on my Dell 4700 pc but it doesn't work. I know in the past i called in when i had a warranty and i was able to manually set it back to complete default factory settings but i forgot how to. Please someone help me! Thanks.Help!
