I just bought a used Dell Dimension 5150 tower from someone that did not come with a mouse or keyboard. I went to plug in my mouse and keyboard and there is no slot for it. When I went to the store there was a universal mouse and keyboard but it has the same connectors as the ones I already have. So how or where do you connect these or do you need some kind of adapter and plug it into the USB? Where do you plug keyboard and mouse into Dell Dimension 5150 Computer? This desktop does not use the ps/2 connectors you are speaking of. You need a keyboard and mouse that have usb on the end. (Generally called a "usb keyboard" and "usb mouse".) USB are those rectangular ports, and you have 7 on the machine.
It possible to buy a ps/2 to usb adapter as well. This link has pictures of some adapters, but personally I would buy one from ebay. they're much cheaper there.

These PS2 connectors are obsolete now, now everybody uses USB.
If you have a trapezoidal(Type D) 2cm width connector it's an old mouse(serial connector aka. rs232), you could buy an adapter but for almost the same price buy a new one, buy a cheap microsoft wheel mouse optical USB, it's the easiest solution.
Maybe in your keyboard you have a connector called, AT connector (aka(also known as) 5 pin DIN). Same as above, obsolete, buy new ones USB.

Where do you plug keyboard and mouse into Dell Dimension 5150 Computer? In the Dell Dimension 5150, the keyboard and mouse is connected through the USB port. You might be having the PS2 type keyboard and mouse. You can buy a PS2 to USB converter and use your existing keyboard and mouse.
