My dell laptop has been off for a few years. A sheriffs department got a hold of it for bull crap investigation and now when turning it on, a message says "no bootable devices, press f1 to try and reboot or f2 for setup utility. What do I need to do?What does it mean when my dell laptop reads no bootable devices? The hard drive is either broken or missing... If the Sheriff has had it I would be willing to bet the hard drive has been removed for forensic testing... There is a small door-slot on the bottom of the laptop where the hard drive slides in, it should use 1 small philips head screw to hold it in place. Remove this small screw %26amp; the cover %26amp; tray should slide out, the hard drive should be mounted in the tray. What does it mean when my dell laptop reads no bootable devices?someone has messed up your settings, get the factory disc, install it,then restart the system, reload back to factory levelWhat does it mean when my dell laptop reads no bootable devices?HDD is either bad or has been removedWhat does it mean when my dell laptop reads no bootable devices?
check the hard drive
