What do you think about getting a dell laptop for college?

Some say dell sucks and breaks on them, and others say to get it

if not which laptop would you get for college and tell me whyWhat do you think about getting a dell laptop for college?i would go with HP, little bit more expensive, but, heck, your going to college, and by more expensive, its only a little bit more, and they last, ive had my desktop for going on 4 years, and i have not had any problems at all, modem even got hit my lightening at these past few storms, and shes fine, so id deffinitely go with HP, or something like that, Dell, if it junks out on you, then you have to order parts from them their computer will not, willllllnottt, accept other parts, if it not certified by dell, they have small programs telling the mother board to accept it, so go with HP, i havnt heard anything about gateway lately, but as the saying goes, no news is good newsWhat do you think about getting a dell laptop for college?
I personally have a Dell laptop but one of the major drawbacks is that Dell has set it up so that if anything should break or need replaced you have no choice but to go through Dell. Their replacement parts are EXPENSIVE!!What do you think about getting a dell laptop for college?viao by sony because theyre small and cute and come in different colors
get a macbook or macbook pro. they can run windows as well. What do you think about getting a dell laptop for college? My boyfriend's computer and his sister's computer both ****** up after a short time of owning them and they were both dells.

In Reply to the dude a couple spaces above me: Hp really isn't that expensive in my opnion. I bought my hp laptop for only $650. I'm pretty poor so I went with the cheapest one there and hp was it.What do you think about getting a dell laptop for college?
Recently, i read an article from PC World Magazine which didn't have the greatest review for Dell and its computers. Many Dell customers have filed complaints with the federal Better Business Bureau over questionable business practices and failure to honor warranties. Here is the article:

"Lawsuit Highlights Complaints of Angry Dell Customers" -- written by Tom Spring, PC World (http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,132492鈥?/a>

I would also recommend HP and Compaq - they belong to the same parent company. They make quality computers and have good customer service. Mac's are very popular now and are used in many large universities. However, the vast majority of the business world use PC's. So, once you graduate from college, you will most likely find a PC at your workplace.
i would go for it i trust Dell with all my laptop needs i would never doubt them for a minuteWhat do you think about getting a dell laptop for college?
HP and Dell are the top two selling brands of LTs and offer the best value and choice. The New Inspiron line has been getting great reviews.
You're absolutely right. Dells are the worst. I have one that broke down. They're the worst computers you can get. If you're looking for a high quality laptop for college, you should get a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092.
