My notebook computer from dell has ubuntu as an operating system. I'm really fed up with it though, since I can't install certain things on it because it requires windows. How much would it cost if I sent it to dell, and had them install windows on it instead? If that's even possible.How much would this cost if I sent my notebook to dell?Not sure on the cost, you'll have to call Dell or check their website. My guess is that they will rip you off. First of all you will have to pay for windows (Ubuntu is free) and then pay probably $100-200 for them to install it. This also may depend on how long ago you bought the computer.
If you really want Windows, you should probably buy a copy yourself, backup all your data, and install Windows yourself. Its not that hard and there's probably another post on here that explains that process.
