How do you play music on Dell 9400 with lid closed?

I have a dell inspiron 9400 and alot of reviews say that it can play music with its lid closed down. I have tried to do this with iTunes and windows media center but it still does not work. When i try it goes into stanby mode. This is really annoying me now! “When I close the lid” select "nothing."



Thus the laptop will continue to operate (with the display off) with the lid down.
