How can i hook up my lcd tv to my computer and have it on with my Dell monitor at the same time?

My Video card has 2 outputs. Vga and Dvi. i have the Dvi going from the Dell monitor to the video card. i hooked up the rga slot via rga cable from the video card to my Vizio lcd tv and it didnt work. i had to take one off for either one to work.
