Fashion Week 2011? What do you do?

Fashion week is September 8- 15 in New York this year. And it has always been my dream to go to New York AND fashion week. and it happens to be over my birthday, september 12. So, i need to know what i need to do to get into fahsion week and where and what everything is. and all the good fashion shows and hotels, ect. please help! is it worth going?Fashion Week 2011? What do you do?
1. I believe the fashion week will be held in Bryant park try to stay near there but reserve in time because the prices when it gets nearer rise over the roof.



2. I'm sorry to say but High fashion shows are only for the invited guest such as people in the fashions industry, or large buyers. (unless u wanna sneak in



3. There will be showcases where the collection is displayed those are more welcome to guest than the fashion shows.

Money isn't going to buy you into a fashion show. You need CONNECTIONS. Of course, there are usually promotions for fashion week where designers give away back row seats (pretty much the worst seats) as giveaways, but there are only so many spots available. Besides, all the good fashion shows are usually completely booked. And by "good" I mean the likes of Chanel, Dior, Proenza Schouler, etc. You need to make yourself wanted by designers, be it by fame (socialite Olivia Palermo), by talent (Scott Schuman), or by power (Anna Wintour). And let me tell you, it's difficult to cultivate a reputation like that in under a year. Essentially there are only two other ways to get into a fashion show: Get an invitation, or gate crash (which is not only tacky, but getting caught can cause a lot of problems). If fashion is what you're interested in, get a job or make a blog and work your way up.

you need to be basically a celebrity to get a invite to the famous new york fashion week, so if you can you need to like appear in magazines and get yourself noticed by the press (which isint eay to do in less than a year :/ )
