How do you get a Dell Inspiron 1525 to get past "Windows is resuming?"?

I can't get Dell support for another 16 hours. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have the Vista Home Premium operating system. You can do this by pressing F8 just before the Windows "caterpillar" would appear.
