I have new dell inspiron laptop which has VGA output while my old Yashica TV has got one S-Video port and couple of audio- video input jack. How can I connect my laptop to TV to watch video on my TV?How to connect my new Dell laptop to old CRT TV to watch video? You need one of these:

This is an Australian company. So if you are not in Australia, just search for VGA to RCA. You can then convert RCA to S-Video. But then you might be able to find a VGA to S-Video somewhere. Search for that if the TV definitely deosn't have a Yellow RCA plug on it.

You will find a blue almost D shaped port on the side or back of your laptop. On your keyboard there is a key that you can use to switch from your Laptop LCD display to any external display attached to that port. Typically the key(s) you need are 'fn' - next to the Windows key, and F6, but it could be F7, F8 or F9. Look on those keys for a symbol that looks like a monitor.

Keep hitting that combo until you see an image on your TV. Some adjustment of your resolution will be needed to get it looking ok on the TV. And even then it might still be a little stretched.

Good luck. How to connect my new Dell laptop to old CRT TV to watch video? You pretty much cant, there might be a way, but the effort it would take would be a massive pain with all the various adapters needed, you can steam video to an xbox 360 or ps3 if you have one by setting up your comp as a media server, but as for directly hooking up your comp to a CRT TV its not going to be worth it, and that's assuming its possible and I don't think it is.

And even if you can its going to look really bad as well, being that the TV resolution will be WAY lower then that of the monitor, and if something your watching on the comp is widescreen it will be even worse, if this is a feature you really want, id advise getting an HDTV or just don't do it cause it will look pretty poor. How to connect my new Dell laptop to old CRT TV to watch video?I REMEMBER YOU SAID THAT YOU ARE AN EXPERT "I.T" PROFESSIONAL RIGHT?

HOW COME YOU DON'T KNOW THAT YOU NEED TV TUNNER CARD IN ORDER TO WATCH TV FIXED IN YOUR PC/LAPTOP.?!!!
