How do you boot a dell laptop with no floppy disc?

I have a completely formatted Dell Latitude C840. When I start it up, it is saying there is "no boot sector on hard disc, no bootable devices". It is looking for the original boot diskette that I don't have. I don't even have a 3.5" drive on a working computer to make one. Is there a way to make a cd or usb do the same thing as the original boot diskette it is looking for? This is getting very frustrating....How do you boot a dell laptop with no floppy disc?Enter your BIOS and change the Boot Priority, to optical DVD/CD drive, or HDD (Hard Disk Drive) to enter your BIOS you need to enter either F8, F10, Escape, Delete. or look for the press blah to enter boot menu. You have to do this fast before it tries to boot up. then go to advanced options and change boot priority. Hope this helps. If it doesn't then just google BIOS. and their are tons of guides that should help you.How do you boot a dell laptop with no floppy disc?Impossible, I suggest you either purchase the correct booting-disk online for your OP, or buy a new PC/LAPTOP. Next time be more intelligent when you first get your PC/LAPTOP, always create a boot-disk in case anything severe happens, and save the CD's that come with your PC/LAPTOP.How do you boot a dell laptop with no floppy disc?Obviously you need a bootdisk. You do not have a bootable disk. Therefor there is no way LEGALLY to get back to square one. So either buy a new OS, or frizby the machine.
