Is Dell a good computer brand? If not do you have other brands of a computer to recomend?

I want to get a laptop. Im looking at a dell laptop. Its only $400 and im only a kid so all i have is a summer babysitting job. Is this a good idea to get a dell computer at that price or does that seem a little risky for it being a piece of junk?Is Dell a good computer brand? Dell overall is a decent brand. I haven't had too many issues with them. I'm sure others have horror stories. It's not so much the brand of the computer that's good or bad but what is in the computer itself. If you have a specific model in mind post a link and ask if it's a good computer or not. It also depends on your needs. What you plan to use the computer for. Take these computers from dell.

I probably wouldn't buy the cheapest one here, but that's just me. It might suit you perfectly. They probably wouldn't do so good for gaming or software development and testing but you could get on the internet and other basic tasks.

If not do you have other brands of a computer to recomend?Their desktop lines are fairly decent, and their Latitude series of business laptops kick ***. Their consumer Inspiron laptops though aren't that great from what I've heard.



For $400 you might be able to get a used or refurbished Latitude off Dell Outlet. The E5400 model goes down to that price and is decent, and is built significantly better than any Inspiron in that range.
It would be very nice if you told us the specs, but anyways, because Price is such an issue, check Newegg for prices.
