Trends for back to school 2011-2012?

I'm going to be a sophomore this year and I've always seemed to have a bit of trouble staying in style. In middle school I began paying attention to fashion trends- I started off middle school by only wearing skirts and dresses that were all hand-me-downs, and by the end of 8th grade I began watching fashion trends, but didn't have enough things that were in style and by that time it was too late to go buy stuff that was in style.

So anyways, last year is when I really started paying attention to what was in style, usually avoiding sweatpants and t-shirts all the time, and dressed up my outfits with things like cardigans and decorative necklaces. I'm not entirely sure of my fashion style, but I'm not preppy or girly- nor am I a tomboy or a nerd either.

I currently shop at:

Forever 21

Wetseal

Delia's (occasionally though because they're expensive!)

Target (for tees and tank tops)

Kohl's (for my Soffe shorts and solid camis)

I have an odd shaped body so I tend to stay away from things that bunch at the waist or are loose- fitting. I also stay away from flare jeans because they cause me to look bigger than I really am D:

Next, I'm going to need a hairstyle to try! I'm donating my hair in a few weeks and it will be just below my shoulders after that. I have brown curly hair that I normally straighten. It's soft but not silky. I have side swept bangs but they're too long to do much with unless I really try. I have a round face.

Finally, I need some makeup styles to try! I have brown almond-shaped eyes and I typically only wear eye makeup. I usually go really light on makeup but this year I want to try something a little more noticeable.

Remember, this is all for school so I can't have things like short shorts or very low-cut shirts. I don't want to look like a slut, just presentable.

Thanks!Trends for back to school 2011-2012?
hey so im a sophomore this year too and i totally have a giant list of all the latest styles that im eager to try out. ive been researching the past week or so and here's my list of all the top teenage trends.

-lots of light pinks, nude colors and light pinks are totally cute and easy to dress up or down

-lace is really big, it may not be your style because i know i feel like a table cloth or some terribly old curtains when i wear the wrong kind, but when done right lace looks super fab, especially with pearls

-chunky bracelets, these are really big, bold, statement pieces that go great with everything

-horizontal stripes, i used to hate these because it made me feel bigger but now horizontal stripes are all the rage!

-crop tops, these are shorter in the front and longer in the back, they're super beachy and i absolutely adore them

-floral print, some can be oober fugly but when you look hard enough you can find some super gorgeous kinds

-tribal print, this is at forever 21 and i think it's going to be a really big trend this year

-bandage skirts, these are the really tight skirts and i totes love them, they look really good with everything-especially crop tops

-giant feather earrings, i'm in love with these and i nnneeeeeeeeedd them, i heard they're at wetseal for only $9!

-rompers, i live at the beach so these are a MUST for me

-toms, these are really cool, comfy shoes that come in millions of styles

-leather %26amp;jean jackets, i have a lot of cardigans and i feel like it's time to change it up a little bit, lots of people wear these and i think they really work for covering straps that don't work for school (strapless dresses, tanks, etc.)

-patterned shorts, floral, tribal, animal, whatever print but i feel that changing the focus point of your outfits is very important

-and this is my most important item- cute white shirts. im not talking about v-necks, i mean cute unique white shirts that can be used for pairing with patterned shorts and skirts.

Now for hair-

i have the sameish length hair, mines brown, and curly and i have out grown sidebangs! what i do is wash my hair in the morning and instead of drying with a towel or blow drying i prefer scrunching the water our and then adding mousse to my hair. it works really well! i let my hair air dry and before i leave for school and also i french braid my side bangs because mine are too long and hard to work with.

And now for makeup-

So i have a ton of makeup that i use and ive tried basically all of the styles im about to tell you about. ive noticed celebrities have been using these makeup styles and you should totally try them!

-coral lips, you have to do this right by making your lips the only focus point, you can't have heavy eye makeup or heavy blush with dark lips or you'll turn out looking like a clown!

-brown smokey eyes, again this look shouldn't have dark cheeks or lips

-bright eyeliner, this should be used in small amounts so you don't look like you're going to hang out at a street corner!

-nude nail polish, i looovveee nude nail polish and i also love painting all my nails one color and then painting the ring fingers a different color

-light purple eyeshadow, applied to the inner corners of your eyes it can keep you looking refreshed instead of tired, even on your worst days!

-and finally matte powder (which is apparently pronounced mat), this keeps you looking not oily all day

I really hope this helps!

oh and here's my "store wish list" (the stores i want to shop at)

-H%26amp;M

-Forever21

-Rue21

-Papaya

-Plato's Closet (sells gently used clothes for up to 75% off regular prices!)

-Claire's (for earrings)Trends for back to school 2011-2012?
Why don't you just try wearing what YOU want wear? It's this really awesome thing called "being yourself" :)Trends for back to school 2011-2012?
I know cropped jeans are reeeallllyyy cute this year :) and no I hate saying capris! Like if you you want to shop there, American Eagle has some REALLY cute ones! Especially if they have rips here and there in them :) Belts. Beltsbeltsbelts are in with maybe denim, or white shorts? ;) and kind of tucking in a tank top or two, or a vneck! But not like super tightly tucked in :) and having those cross-body bags are really in right now too! Where I live at least haha. I know theyre pricy but just like a general idea, the Coach bags that are the cross-body's, just those sizes! Or the kinds that are fringed? :) And I don't know about anybody else but I like tthis owl jewelry thing going around.. Hope I helped somewhat! :)
florals are realy in %26amp; denim shorts with a cute belt.
