A few early bridal questions?

I'm planning a wedding for Spring 2011, but need to start thinking about dresses now. Does anyone know when Spring catalogs are released? I will be leaving the country in January, and need to know if I should just buy a fall dress. I should have time in the Spring of 11 to buy a dress, but would really rather not wait that long - how much do fashions really change? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for other things I should get settled as soon as possible? I will be out of the country for about six months, followed by about 6 months of working 60-80 weeks. I will be relatively free from January `11 until the wedding, which is looking like late April, but am also very easily stressed by last minute preparations.A few early bridal questions?
I would get the place for your wedding and reception reserved, perhaps talk to caterers and photographers and book their time. You can keep on top of fashions with the internet while you are away. While four to five months isn't a lot of time in wedding planning, if you know what you want, you will probably find it in bridal magazines and on line sites. Congratulations and good luck.A few early bridal questions?

There are several books on the market regarding wedding ettiquette that will put everything on a time line for you...i.e. when to send invitations, when to meet with caterer, etc. Good luck!
You could always search online. That way it doesn't matter where you are. Consider trying on a few gowns before you leave so you can figure out what style looks best on your body. Then when the spring collections come out you can look online or order catalogs from different companies and narrow it down to a few specific dresses based on the style you prefer. And when you get back in January 2011 you can try on a few dresses that you like rather than starting from scratch with no idea of what you want.

As for the style changing, I think it depends on your specific style preferences. Are you the trendy type who always wears the latest styles? Or are you more traditional? If you're more traditional, the new styles they roll out in the spring may not impress you much. You could buy a classic style that will work regardless of the season. Or if you're the trendy type, you may want to wait until the newer gowns come out so you can also choose from those.
