Ok, growing p in church, it is always said we go to heaven, but where does it say that?

Firstly, I am a devout Christian and a firm believer in the bible, and a avid student. (5 days a week studying the bible) I am not trying to belittle anyone’s beliefs, nor am I our to discredit the bible in any fashion.

Where in the bible does it state that we all go to heaven. Growing up in church, all I ever heard was, get saved and go to heaven. But after much study into the bible, I have not found where the idea is coming from. (the heaven part, not the saved part).

Psalm 37:29 (NWT)= The righteous themselves will possess the earth,

And they will reside forever upon it.

Matthew 5:5 (KJV)= Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Psalm 37:11 (NIV,1984)= But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.

Isaiah 45:18 (NLT, 2007)= For the LORD is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. "I am the LORD," he says, "and there is no other.

Psalm 115:16 (AKJV)= The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's: but the earth has he given to the children of men.

Proverbs 2:21,22 (NASB, 1995)= For the upright will live in the land And the blameless will remain in it; But the wicked will be cut off from the land And the treacherous will be uprooted from it.

Revelation 11:15 (NIV, 2011)= The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

Let me clarify:

1) I am not asking how one earns salvation.

2) I am not out to bash, or am I bashing the bible or peoples beliefs in anyway

3) I understand that you need salvation to be able to inherit everlasting life

4) I am not interested in people’s opinions on the matter, so:

5) Please provide scriptures with your answer

All I am asking, is where in the bible is it said that we will be going to heaven after death. Because all I see is verses stating that we stay here on earth.

I am merely out for some clarification on a belief that I see held, that the “saved” go to heaven. And the reason I would like you to provide scripture with your answer is this:

1 Corinthians 2:5 (ASV)= that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

And i know that the bible does not contradict itself, so if you provide me with scriptures that support that we all go to heaven, please tell me how that it bunks the ones i provided. Again, not attacking anybody, i am just very very curious.Ok, growing p in church, it is always said we go to heaven, but where does it say that?
No we do not all go to heaven. And as far as ignoramus_the_great is concerned, and the two scriptures he provided, they do not bunk all of the other scriptures that state we stay here on earth.

Also, what was Jehovah's original plan for the earth? And why do they think that changed?

You provided all the scriptures for the answer. And these "christains" are pretty typical of taking one or two scriptures and thinking that by taking them out of context they can bunk what the rest of the bible says about any given subject. Pretty sad if you ask me.Ok, growing p in church, it is always said we go to heaven, but where does it say that?
You are a Jehovah's Witness, not a Bible-defined Christian! Why are you presenting yourself as a Christian here and not being open about your identity? Since you have been brainwashed by the Watchtower Society (a Bible-defined false prophet) to believe only the 144,000 can be "born again" and will go to heaven, you have presented the Scriptures they gave you which do NOT prove the point.

Real Christians are servants of God. Jesus taught, "...where I am, my servant also will be...." (John 12:26) So where did Jesus go? Heaven? That is not limited to only 144,000, but all servants. Part of the problem is how you were taught about heaven by the false prophets in Brooklyn. Heaven includes the entire "kingdom of heaven." We call it heaven for short.

Your "gospel" that Jesus established his invisible kingdom in 1914 is ludicrous and has no power to transform a slave of sin into a holy loving person free from sin addictions. Paul never preached that 1914 is when the invisible kingdom would be established, yet he preached the gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4). To preach a different gospel, as you do, is to be condemned (Gal. 1:8,9)

It is time to break away from the Watchtower Society and their perverted NWT, read a reputable translation and change accordingly. You are not "taking in knowledge" by going to those 5 JW meetings at the Kingdom Hall per week any more than a Catholic takes in knowledge when he goes to mass.

Here are vital life-giving answers for you --%26gt; http://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/jehovah's-witnesses-answered.htm (Are you an honest truth seeker?)Ok, growing p in church, it is always said we go to heaven, but where does it say that?
Paul said :

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

When you pass, your soul goes to heaven and your body to the grave. How do we know our soul goes to heaven? Where is the Lord?

Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Christ is above in Heaven.

John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Jesus is in heaven preparing a place for us right now. He will come for his bride( the church) at the rapture where all believers will receive new bodies and the souls that have gone before will He bring with Him.

1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

1 Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Some people say the last trumpet is the trumpets in Revelations, but Paul wrote these things before his passing and Revelations was written by John after his death. Paul might not have even known of the trumpets of Revelations but he did know of the 2 trumpets in Numbers used to call the assembly and then start their journey.

Numbers 10:2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.

We meet Christ in the air and go back to heaven for the marriage supper.

Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Revelation 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Revelation 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Please study tthe Jewish wedding traditions in Christ's day and see how they relate to the scriptures.
Great question and a lesson for many to learn. There are a number of scriptures to consider. The Bible says the following in 1 Corinthians 14:51-58

51Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Then again in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, ...
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

So far we have the believers being caught up to the Lord in the air, and it say "so shall we ever be with the Lord." Our question is where do all of these caught up believers go. For that I turn to Revelations 7:9-17

9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
13And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.

This scene takes place in heaven, before the throne of God. We have a multitude of people, which no man can number. They are before the throne of God in heaven, just like the elders, the angels and the four beasts. An elder even tells John who these people are, so we can be assured at this point they are in heaven, arrayed in white robes.

Next we look at the Wedding Feast of the Lamb, which takes place in heaven. Look who is invited in Revelations 19:1, 7-9

1And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, ...
7Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.

So here in heaven we have the marriage supper of the Lamb. His wife is the believers, and they are arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, and the Bible says this represents the righteousness of the saints showing definitely believers are in heaven.

...but whole on a second, we are not through yet. Revelations 19 continues with

11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
13 ...and his name is called The Word of God.
14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

So we have Jesus returning to the earth and he has the church still clothed in fine linen, white and clean following after him. Later we see in Revelations 21

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; ...
2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Here we have the holy city New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven and being placed on the earth. So we have God dwelling on earth with his believers. The Bible describes the city, how it is adorned with precious stones, golden streets. This is essentially heaven on earth.

In conclusion we have the believers in heaven with God, and then on earth with God for all eternity, so in a way both answers are correct. Whew, problems getting this all posted.
