Staying in los angeles summer 2011 with my friends how much does it cost? and what are safe neighbourhoods?

Me and my 2-3 friends will be eighteen years old and are going to Los Angeles for the summer of 2011 for two months. We have found great apartments for 2.500 dollars. Wondering what are the safest neighborhoods? like 90210 ?. We don't mind paying more for the security. We will be getting paid from our country Iceland while we are there for reporting back to Iceland about fashion and stuff. So we have a job. If we are three girls. Can we assume spending per person 850 dollars on apartment if we are three. And spending 200-300 dollars per person for a rental car per month ?? and how much is groceries for one person per week ? if we would not go out much and cook home and really watch out for what we are spending our money at. We will have shopping money and stuff that we are saving up for and of course the flight out. Most importantly what are the safest neighborhoods for us to stay in ?? and how much does it cost per person to eat food per week ? And isn't LA or Beverly hills a safe place if you are a smart girl with your friends at the age of 18 staying in a secure neighborhood ?? And one other question. Do not teenagers in L.A go clubbing at the age of 18 ? in Iceland they just use fake id's or someones that resemble them. is that a no chance in L.A strict club scene ???

However, the cost will be very high. $2500 for a 2BR apartment will be about right. You'll all have to share bedrooms.



Rental cars are going to be pretty expensive as well, especially if you are under 25. You will have a very difficult time finding a company that will even rent to you. And there will be a surcharge because you are so young.



Most of the clubs here are 21+. There are a few 18+ clubs scattered here and there. Post another question for the answer to that. But clubs are VERY strict about ID's, and they can spot fakes. Many of the people checking ID's at clubs are off-duty Los Angeles police officers. plan on spending 200 a day... hotel, food and anything else that hits your fancy. but if you rent an apartment figure 1200 ~1800 a month . depending on the area food cost is usally 50 dollars a week .

Safe neighborhoods???? it's all safe and dangerous at the same time



Los angeles is basically a boring city, for the most part if you are under 21. and the bouncers can usually spot fake ids, so unless you feel adventurous, i wouldn't want to waste my time.



ALSO YOU WILL NEED A CAR, gas is expensive but Insurance will cause your blood to boil.



a better time would be spent if you stayed in oregon or washington state.
